Our creativity and industry experience – BlindDrop Design Inc. been in business since 2001 and specialize in corporate identity development across media. Our lead print and Web team have over 24 years combined experience in their industries. We have now further expanded our services beyond design and are now the BlindDrop Media Group. We are located in Cochrane, Alberta and primarily serve the Cochrane and Calgary area.
An initial design meeting to discuss not only your corporate id but your entire project scope Up to 4 unique logo concepts based on your specific needs One round of revisions – to bring the final design to a pre-press stage A master business card design (for one name) based on new corporate identity Printer management for the business card (we work with a variety of printers to ensure you have a full choice of printing options. We work with local printers in Cochrane and Calgary and we also have a printer in Ontario that has perfected a unique finish that no one locally can reproduce. They’re pretty reasonable too... Specific Digital file types of the finished work - We provide the client with both print-ready and general use digital file formats at project sign off.
I just need a logo done…We can provide logo design without the balance of a Corporate Identity but we do advise towards a review of your print and Web needs prior to starting any design process, as the logo is the nucleus for all other media. A logo design depends largely on what you have prepared or have in mind. We have a minimum charge of $995.00 plus GST for any logo design project, that includes: Initial meeting/discussion Concept stage (1 concept) One round of revisions Sign off and taking files to a final pre-press format
What is your hourly rate?All services are based on our competitive, professional production rate of $125/hr Our RUSH rate is: $187.50/hr
How long does a usual project take?Project timelines are based on our current workload and are affected by client responsiveness. These times are simply estimates based on our experience: LOGO: 1- 2 week process BUSINESS CARDS: 1 week design, up to 3 weeks for printing depending on printer CORP ID: 2 – 3 weeks CORP ID & FOUNDATION WEB SITE: 4 to 6 weeks FOUNDATION WEBSITE: 4 – 6 weeks: one week design, one - two week production, one week content and testing

How soon can I book in my project?What are your office hours? What software do you use?For all print and Web graphics we use Adobe Creative Suite CS3 For Web, we primarily hand code using Dreamweaver and TopStyle for CSS development. We (and our developers) use server-based programs for PHP and MySQL development
Do you have an FTP site I can upload my files to?Yes we do have an FTP site for clients and partners. How can I pay you?We prefer cheques if possible, but we also accept: What are your payment terms?We require a deposit prior to project commencement. This applies to both new and established clients unless other agreements/contracts are in place.
UP TO $5,000 - We require a 50% deposit on projects, with 50% due at project sign off OR on a specified date agreed to in our estimate or proposal.
OVER $5,000 - We require a 30% deposit, plus a 40% midpoint and the remaining balance, or 30% final payment. Final payment must be received prior to project signoff and release of print-ready files or Web files. - We are now offering monthly payment terms, please contact us for more information.
We have a 22.5% per annum interest rate on all payments that are outstanding after 30 days.
How many people/employees does BlindDrop have?PRINT & SIGNSHOPSDo you do your own printing? Who does your printing?We don’t do printing inhouse but work with a select group of commercial and industrial printers and sign shops who specialize in various printing techniques, paper and card stock and specific finishes. This allows us the most versatility for producing the best results for our clients. That said, we pride ourselves on our printer management services and find it best to liason between client and printer to ensure the best possible outcome every time.
WEB DEVELOPMENTHow much does a Web site cost?Website costs vary as much as car prices do. Our prices for custom website development range from under $3,000 to over $50,000 – it depends on what design, functionality and marketing your project needs. Our standard package is our Foundation Web site , which costs $2,999.00+GST.
This package includes: Unique, custom design aligned with your new, revitalized or existing Corporate Identity Up to 10 pages or sub pages A full CMS with powerful functionality for managing content. If deeper functionality is required for the website in the foreseeable future, we will recommend a more robust CMS solution that will more easily support additional modules under one unified login. Basic Search Engine Optimization research and development for all pages and submission of your site to the main search engines and directories through their free listings. Paid marketing campaigns can be initiated once the site has been placed live.
Domains, hosting and additional features are at an extra cost to this foundation price; we will provide an estimate based on your specific needs. Did you need any of the following? Hosting package ($216 per year) – a robust package with 500MB Web space and 4GB bandwidth, also 25 email accounts, stats packages. Our hosting is LOCAL. Photo Gallery (install, customize and upload images) – Price subject to specific needs E-commerce (install, customize and add initial products) – Price subject to specific needs Forums (install, customize and set up forum) – Price subject to specific needs Full Content Management System includes install, customization, testing. Additional modules will be added at an additional charge to this base price (e.g. galleries, calendars, e-commerce, etc.) – Price subject to specific needs
How much is your hosting and what does it include?Our standard hosting package is $216/yr. (saving 10% off the yearly rate). We have a very personalized hosting service. When you are a BlindDrop client we take care of Web site transfers, account set up and activation, domain transfers, email account set up and troubleshooting. We do have both Windows and Linux hosting available, but prefer using Linux as it is a more suitable development platform as we develop using PHP scripting and MySQL databases. Our standard hosting package includes: Local hosting, our servers are located at a highly secure datacentre downtown Calgary Free set up – either self-manage online or we can set it up for you 500MB of Web space for hosting your Website files 4GB of monthly bandwidth (for Web traffic, FTP, streaming video and audio). 25 unique email accounts, unlimited email forwards Webmail Web stats
Do you own your own servers?We own and manage our own nameservers and we have partnered with a local Calgary downtown datacenter so your hosting is fast, secure and nearby.
We manage all aspects of domain, email and Web hosting unless the client decides otherwise.
